For most families, school news comes twice a year, at report-card time, and by then it is history rather than news. An absence in Tikimt is discovered in Tir. A fee arrear grows quietly until it is a crisis at exam time. The parents who queue at the gate for answers are the lucky ones with time to queue.

What arrives on your phone, and when
The same morning: an absence SMS if your child was marked absent or never tapped in at the gate, in your language, once, early enough to act. Before a deadline: a fee reminder stating the exact birr amount and date, never a vague summons to the office. On release day: the report card announcement, with the digital copy opening according to the school's policy.
In the app, the picture is continuous rather than event-driven: today's attendance ("at school since 07:52"), the week's register, homework due and submitted, results as the school releases them, the fee ledger with what is paid and what is due, and this week's approved lesson topics, so you know what "what did you learn today?" should surface.
You control the noise: choose which topics reach you by SMS, mute what you do not need, and the truly urgent still gets through. One child or five, one school or three, it is one feed on one phone.
Paying the school, with proof in your pocket
Nothing about where your money goes changes: you pay the school itself, by Telebirr or CBE Birr to the school's account, by bank transfer, or in cash at the office. Temari's role is the paper trail: submit the transaction reference from your phone, the school's finance officer verifies it against the school's own account, and your receipt appears with a QR code.
That QR is your protection: anyone can scan it and confirm the school issued the receipt, without seeing your family's information. The eternal dispute of "we paid, the notebook says otherwise" ends, because the record is verified on both sides and the receipt cannot be forged.
Scholarships and sibling discounts the school granted are applied automatically on the invoice before you see it, with the reduced amount stated plainly. And if the school offers instalments, each payment lands against the same ledger, so both sides always agree on the remaining balance.

I don't have a smartphone. Does this still help me?
Yes. The most important messages (absences, fee amounts, result announcements) arrive as ordinary SMS in your language. The app adds detail for those who want it; it is never required.
What does it cost a family?
200 birr per child per year, about 55 santim per school day, paid once at registration. School fees themselves are unchanged and go directly to the school, as they always have.
How do I pay school fees through Temari?
You pay the school directly by Telebirr, bank transfer, or cash at the office, then submit the reference number in the portal. The school verifies it against its own account and your QR-verified receipt appears in your portal the moment it is confirmed.
I have children in different schools. Do I need two accounts?
No. One account shows every child linked to you, each within what their school permits guardians to see. One phone number, one PIN, the whole family.
Can I message my child's teacher?
Yes, through the school's own chat, in one family thread per child, so the school's record keeps the conversation. Some schools review teacher messages before they send; that is the school's policy working as intended.
How do I excuse my child's absence?
From the portal: pick the day, write the reason, attach a note if you have one. The homeroom teacher sees it against the register and responds. No letters folded into an exercise book.
