Most school software fails in Ethiopia for the same reasons: it assumes reliable internet, it prices in dollars against a school budget in birr, and it lands on staff as extra work on top of the paper they already keep. Temari was designed against those three failures: offline-tolerant, priced per student in birr, and built to replace the paper rather than duplicate it.
Adoption starts with your data, not with training slides. We take your existing register in Excel and import it (students, guardians, sections), then set up your fee structure and grading policy the way your school already runs them. Most schools mark their first attendance within the same week, and payment starts only after the first full semester, so the decision to pay is made with real report cards in hand.
The pricing model matches how school money actually flows: the core platform is paid by families at 200 birr per student per year, about 55 santim per school day, so the school itself carries no software cost for the core. Optional add-ons like ID cards and the School Plan are priced separately, with published per-student prices in birr.

The first ninety days, concretely
Week one is data and doors: your register imports from Excel, sections and fee structures are configured to match how the school already works, staff accounts arrive through their HR positions, and homeroom teachers mark their first registers. Attendance is deliberately the first live module, because it is daily, low-risk, and every teacher touches it, so the habit forms fast.
Weeks two to six layer the term's rhythm: invoices generate on the Ethiopian months and the payment-verification queue replaces the notebook; teachers plan the continuous assessment per subject and the marklists generate from the plans; the timetable is generated, tuned and published. Each module lands with the people who own it, not as one big-bang training day.
By the end of the first semester the school has run a full cycle from registration to report cards, and that is the point of running a full semester first: the decision to pay is made looking at your own printed report cards, your own collection reports, and your own staff's verdict, not at a sales demo.
What leadership sees that it never saw before
The daily picture arrives without asking anyone: today's attendance by branch and grade, this week's collections against dues, which sections have marklists overdue, which teachers' lesson plans await review. The school-wide workspace acts across every branch, so a principal fixes a Grade 7 issue at the Ayat branch without switching accounts or driving there.

The school's, always. Your records export in standard formats (registers, marks, finance), and if you leave, you take them with you. Temari holds your data to serve you, not to lock you in.
What if our staff are not comfortable with technology?
The daily surfaces are deliberately simple: attendance is tapping the exceptions, marks are typing the number, and training runs in the language your staff teach in. Schools where half the staff had never used a dashboard run full semesters on Temari; the design assumes a phone, not an IT department.
Is our data safe, and what about internet outages?
Data lives on managed infrastructure with per-school isolation enforced in the platform's core, so one school can never read another's records. Day-to-day work tolerates outages: attendance and marks queue on the device and sync when the connection returns.
