Seventeen universities have now published their notices. Wolkite opens on Meskerem 4 and Ambo closes the season on Meskerem 19, with most of the country in between.

The assessment service has published the share of candidates reaching 50 percent for each of the last five years. It went from 3.32 percent in 2014 E.C. to 12.85 percent in 2018 E.C., and the climb was not uninterrupted.

The Ministry of Education has called a second sitting of the federal secondary school entrance exam, for students who were selected but did not sit the paper on Nehase 29. It opens at 8:30 in the morning at the nearest exam centre.

The 591.6 out of 600 that the Ministry read out on 22 August as the best result of the year now has a name. It was scored in natural science at Oda Special Boarding School in Adama.

Addis Ababa University has opened first-degree admission
The call covers the 2026/27 academic year and runs through the university's own entrance test. Applications for that test open on 25 August 2026 and close on 4 September.

NGAT entrance tickets can now be downloaded
Registered candidates can sign in and print the entrance ticket, which names the centre, the session and the date. The test runs on 26 and 27 August 2026, and everyone is asked to arrive half an hour early.

Where the Grade 12 passes came from, region by region
Addis Ababa passed 32.3 percent of its candidates and Gambella 3.74 percent. Oromia passed the most students in raw numbers. The Ministry also counted 565 schools where nobody passed, down from 1,232 last year.

The student behind the second-highest Grade 12 score has been named
Hidase Zemenu scored 583 out of 600 in natural science, the second of the four results the Ministry read out. Her school had already named its library after her for a 99.67 average.

The Ministry of Education announced the results on 22 August 2026. Of the 550,210 candidates who sat the exam, 12.8 percent reached 50 percent or above. Candidates who sat on a computer passed at more than four times the rate of those who sat on paper.

A news-style card saying the Ministry of Education announced a 93 percent Grade 12 pass rate is a fabrication, and the picture itself was made with AI. The real result came out the next day, and the national pass rate was 12.8 percent.

The Ethiopian Institute of Certified Public Accountants is calling for applicants to its Accounting Technician Qualification. It is aimed at the middle level of finance work in both government and private employment, and eleven institutions are accredited to teach it.

Health professionals sit the licensing exam from 19 to 21 August
The Ministry of Health has set the competency examination for Nehase 13 to 15, 2018 E.C. Orientation is the afternoon before. Candidates carry in a National ID and a printed slip with a QR code, and the centre named on the slip is the only place the exam can be sat.

Free coding training is open to students, and the target runs to Nehase
The national coders programme passed five million enrolments in June and is aiming for seven million by Nehase 2018 E.C. The courses are free, registration is at ethiocoders.et, and a student can start over the kremt holiday without the school doing anything.

The Ministry of Education has named 11 additional work-and-practice trades for Grades 11 and 12, starting with Grade 11 in the 2019 E.C. school year. The Addis Ababa Education Bureau has now issued the implementation manual that tells its schools how to pick which of the eleven to open.
