Addis Ababa University has reopened admission for two days

The requirements are the same in both notices. An applicant needs one of the school routes and then has to sit the test:

• An ESSLCE pass at the marks the Ministry of Education required, from 2015, 2016, 2017 or 2018 E.C.
• Or remedial education anywhere in 2018 E.C. with the qualifying remedial exam passed.
• Or an international curriculum or a secondary school finished abroad, with the schooling validated by the Education and Training Assessment Authority.
• Anyone who enrolled at another university in 2016, 2017 or 2018 E.C. must submit proof of cost-sharing payment alongside their academic papers.
• Everyone sits the Undergraduate Admission Test and has to reach its minimum passing score.
• Health-related fields, law and some others carry an additional assessment that has to be passed.
• An applicant whose ESSLCE and test results do not reach their chosen department has to consent to the department the university places them in.

The Regular call is the day programme and the Extension call is the evening one. Both are open on a self-sponsored basis only, both close at the same minute and both send applicants to the same test on the same day. Three things separate them.

Step 2.4 of the Extension notice tells the applicant to click Call for Undergraduate Regular Admission, and only six steps later to select Extension as the admission type. One door serves both programmes, and it is where an extension applicant decides they have opened the wrong page.    Open the portal and find the call

   Go to admission.aau.edu.et, click Undergraduate application, then Apply, then Call for Undergraduate Regular Admission. Extension applicants use this same button.

   Validate with your Fayda number

   Enter your Fayda number, press Validate, then enter the one-time code sent to your phone by SMS.

   Create the account

   Use a working email address and a password of at least eight characters. After this, the Login button is how you come back.

   Fill in your academic profile

   Complete Your Academic Profile, press Update, then Next, then choose Regular or Extension as your admission type.

   Choose your programmes and upload your papers

   Self-sponsored regular applicants pick ten programmes, extension applicants pick three in priority order. Upload each document as a PDF no larger than 5MB.

   Pick your test location and pay

   Choose your UAT exam location from the drop-down, accept the consent statements, then pay 750 birr through Telebirr or by scanning the QR code.

   Take your ticket and your schedule

   UAT Admission Ticket gives you the ticket and Exam Schedule gives you the sitting. After the test, Exam Result and See Admission Status are on the same portal.

The test is administered digitally on the university's own network. AAU does not publish centres in the notice: it tells applicants to check its web page and the Testing Center's channel at t.me/aauGAT daily from the day they apply, because the assigned centre, date and time arrive there.
