A library that already carried her name
The national result is the second time the school has had reason to put her name up. When she moved from Grade 11 into Grade 12 she finished on an average of 99.67, and the school named its library after her. The board the school put up reads Hidase Library, with the average printed underneath it.
The two numbers measure different things and were earned a year apart, so the 99.67 and the 583 are not two versions of the same result. One is a school year of coursework, the other is a single national paper.
The school
At its briefing the Ministry put the 583 at Agew Midir School in Injibara, in Awi Zone in the Amhara Region, and the pictures published with this report are of Agew Midir's own gate. Three of the four highest results of the year came from outside Addis Ababa.
