Grade 12 results are out. Where to check yours

When the Grade 12 result arrives, and what to do if you disagree with it

Education Minister Professor Berhanu Nega said on 22 August 2026 that the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 results would be sent to students on Monday or Tuesday, and Tikvah Ethiopia reported that candidates would be able to see them from Monday morning or Tuesday afternoon. That means 24 or 25 August 2026. Candidates who disagree with a score will have five or six days to file a complaint. Remedial intake will be smaller than last year because more candidates passed, and the cut-off mark for it is still to be announced.

    Your result arrives

Monday 24 or Tuesday 25 August 2026, through the assessment service's own channels.

  2. 2

Check it against your own papers

Read the subject by subject breakdown as well as the total. A complaint has to name what looks wrong.

  3. 3

File a complaint if you need to

You get five or six days. After that the score stands.

  4. 4

    Wait for the remedial cut-off

The mark that decides remedial admission has not been announced. The Ministry will give it separately, later.

  5. 5

    Watch for the university call

Addis Ababa University and the science and technology universities admit first, and the rest follow.

Where to look for your result

  • The results portal at result.eaes.et. The same service also answers at result.neaea.gov.et.
  • The official Telegram bot, @EAESbot. Open it from that link rather than searching for it, because handles a letter away from it belong to accounts with nothing to do with the assessment service.
  • An SMS to the short code 6284.
02

If you disagree with your score

Candidates with a complaint about their result get five or six days to bring it. The Minister did not say which day that window opens on, and it will run from the release rather than from the briefing. If a score looks wrong to you, read the subject breakdown first and write down exactly which paper you are questioning before the window closes.

03

There will be fewer remedial places this year

Remedial exists for candidates who fall short of the pass mark, and the number of places moves with the result. More candidates passed this year than last, so the Minister said the remedial intake will be smaller. How much smaller depends on a cut-off mark that has not been set, and he said it would be announced later.

What the remedial year involves, and who it is for, is set out in the remedial programme explained.

04

University admission and the start of classes

Addis Ababa University and the science and technology universities run their recruitment and admission first. The Ministry said it is working to get the other universities calling students quickly after that, because it wants to hold the start of classes at Meskerem 5, 2019 E.C., which is Tuesday 15 September 2026.

The full result, including how the two streams and the two examination formats compared, is in 70,544 students passed the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 national exam.
