Open the results portal
Go to result.eaes.et and open the Home page. Starting at the Complaint tab will only show you the instructions.
- 2
Sign in to your result
The form asks for your admission number, your first name, and the answer to a short arithmetic question that stops automated lookups. Nothing else.
- 3
Read the subject breakdown
A complaint has to name the paper you are questioning, so compare each subject against what you expected before you go any further.
- 4
Find the Action Buttons section
It sits on your results page, under your scores. This is the only place the complaint form opens from.
- 5
Open Submit Complaint
The button starts a short wizard. Fill it in and send it before 4:00 PM on 1 September 2026.
- 6
Check My Complaints for the answer
The reply arrives in the same portal, under the My Complaints button, so there is nothing to travel for and nobody to telephone.
What the complaint address actually opens
The address in circulation is result.eaes.et/complaint, and it is the right address. What it opens is a panel headed How to Submit a Complaint, four numbered steps and a Check Result Now button, and that is the whole page. There is no field to type into and nothing to send from it.
That matters because of what a candidate is likely to conclude. Somebody who taps a link expecting a complaint form, finds prose instead, and knows the window is short can easily decide the deadline has already passed or that the system is down. The deadline has not passed and the portal is working. The form is one step further in, behind the result itself, because the service ties every complaint to the score it is about.
What to have ready before you start
Before you open the form
- Your admission number, exactly as it appears on your registration slip.
- Your first name as it was registered, which is what the portal matches against.
- Your subject by subject breakdown, read carefully rather than only the total.
- The specific subject you are questioning, and why. A complaint that says only that the total looks low gives nobody anything to check.
- A working internet connection for the few minutes the wizard takes. There is no partial save to come back to.
The window closes on the afternoon of 1 September
The service opened complaints on ነሐሴ 19 and closes them on ነሐሴ 26 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. at ከቀኑ 10፡00 ሰዓት. In Gregorian dates and on the standard clock that is 25 August to 4:00 PM on Monday 1 September 2026. The closing hour is the part that catches people: ከቀኑ 10፡00 is four in the afternoon, so a candidate who reads it as ten o'clock and files that evening files after the window has shut.
None of this needs a journey. The service said plainly that candidates can file without coming in person, which is a change worth using. Filing on the last afternoon is still a risk you do not have to take.
Two things worth being careful about
The other one is older and comes back every result season. Pages appear claiming to hold scores early, or to fix a result for a fee, and they are always fabrications. The three official routes are the portal, the @eaesbot Telegram bot and a text to 6284. Last week a card claiming a national pass rate of 93 percent went round a day before the real figures, and it was invented.
What a complaint can and cannot do
A complaint asks the service to look at a score again. It is not an appeal against the exam, a request to re-sit, or a route to a remedial place, and the remedial cut-off is a separate announcement the Ministry has still to make. Read when the Grade 12 result arrives for how remedial and the university calendar fit around this.
Where is the Grade 12 result complaint form?
Inside your own results page on result.eaes.et. Check your result from the home page with your admission number and first name, then use the Submit Complaint button in the Action Buttons section. The result.eaes.et/complaint address shows instructions only.
When does the complaint window close?
At 4:00 PM on Monday 1 September 2026, which is Nehase 26, 2018 E.C. at ከቀኑ 10፡00 ሰዓት. It opened on 25 August 2026.
Do I have to go anywhere in person to complain about my result?
No. The Educational Assessment and Examinations Service said candidates can file entirely online, and the reply comes back through the same portal.
What do I need to file a complaint?
Your admission number, your first name as registered, and the answer to a short arithmetic check on the portal's home form. You should also know which subject you are questioning, because the complaint has to name it.
How do I find out what happened to my complaint?
Open the portal again and use the My Complaints button on your results page. It shows the status of anything you have already sent.
Can someone else file the complaint for me?
Filing needs your admission number and first name, which is the same pair that opens your result. Handing them to a stranger gives them your score and lets them file in your name, so do it yourself.
